"It should have been another momentous occasion for the history of Liverpool and in particular Anfield. What a night on Tuesday, fantastic no other word for the way Arsenal played. It was some of the best football a lot of people have ever seen but you need a gritty determination and a inner belief that no matter who is in front of you, you will succeed no matter what the circumstances are. This current Liverpool team have this in abundance and more, it's not just luck ask AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Inter, Chelsea (2), and now Arsenal.

It is some list but as we are celebrating there is a inner problem that is threatening to undermine our achievements’.

RICK PARRY has signalled his intention to clear the air with Rafael Benitez over the rift that has increased the uncertainty over the Liverpool manager’s future.

Benitez was alarmed at the weekend to discover that the Anfield chief executive was present at a meeting with Jurgen Klinsmann to discuss a proposal to replace him as Liverpool manager. He has called for meeting to clarify who was at the meetings with Klinnsman.

Tom Hicks held two meetings with Jurgen Klinsmann with a view to the German replacing Rafael Benitez as manager. The second was held at Hicks’ holiday home in California during Thanksgiving weekend when Parry was not present.Story continues

THE long-term Anfield future of Rafael Benitez has been plunged into fresh doubt, after the Spaniard last night expressed fears his job is being undermined. Privately, Benitez is running out of patience with the discord behind the scenes, and will consider offers from else-where if the struggle for power in the boardroom continues much longer

LIVERPOOL co-owner Tom Hicks is to formally ask business partner George Gillett to back his attempts to oust chief executive Rick Parry.

Moores, who continues to act as honorary life president at Anfield, said: “It's heartbreaking. I'm almost lost for words about the damage that's being done to the club at the present time. I've never known anything like it and I'm just absolutely shell-shocked. "The wonderful success they had that night (against Arsenal) has been completely diminished, it is completely gone, because of all of this being brought out into the open.

GEORGE Gillett today publicly backed Rick Parry after co-owner Tom Hicks called on Liverpool’s chief executive to resign. Hicks sent Parry a letter demanding he ends his nine-year tenure at Anfield, but Gillett told the ECHO he did not support the ultimatum

THE power struggle at Liverpool took another astonishing twist today when co-owner Tom Hicks demanded the resignation of chief executive Rick Parry and Dubai International Capital put their takeover plans on hold. It is believed a letter from Hicks arrived at Anfield today - just 48 hours after the club’s triumphant passage into the Champions League semi-finals - demanding Parry’s departure.

Let’s hope it all ends soon bring on Chelsea....
