The new stadium will
provide a catalyst for
regeneration of
Anfield/Breckfield. The
total jobs accounted for
by the new stadium will
be 1,692 - making it a
major contributor to the
economy of North
Liverpool. Across the
national economy, the
Anfield Stadium and
Anfield Plaza development
projects will produce
2,800 jobs, roughly one
third of which will be in
the stadium itself and in
new businesses around the
Plaza - with the
remaining jobs in the
surrounding area
supporting these people.
The construction
programme itself is
estimated to support a
further 187 jobs. Working
with Anfield Breckfield
Community Partnership's
proposed social
enterprises, the goal is
to ensure that the
maximum number of local
jobs are accessed by
local people. The local
JET and Job Centre Plus,
as well as Hope at
Everton and Weston
Spirit, are already
working on specific
training programmes make
this goal a reality.
